Today is an anniversary I will always celebrate because it reminds me to be grateful to be alive. I was hit by a car four years ago and had I not survived, I would have missed the best years of my life. And had I not been wearing a DOT-approved full-face motorcycle helmet, I might not be writing this. My left shoulder and rib cage were crushed, but the helmet absorbed the impact to the left side of my head and face. I am grateful that the people who taught me to ride, also taught me the importance of safety. I do not allow any part of my body to be exposed while I am on a motorcycle, and that policy has paid off. My advice: If you have never ridden a motorcycle, you should, its fun. If you do ride a motorcycle, please remember: All the gear - All the time. Thank you for listening :)
