Went back to Te Araroa on New Years eve day for unveiling of plaques for Roka Rangitahuri Shaw, Rongomaianiwaniwa (Doza) Rangiwhetu, Te Aotaki (Boy) Brown and the burial of Thelma Marion Browns ashes...lovely service by Nanny Rose Stainton...tino rawe nga waiata by Arnie (M is for the...and that spells MOTHER)...and Mum I love you yes I do...ahhh lots of reminiscing...it was a beautiful morning, lovely casual service...he mihi ki a koe Nanny Rose...after service we all headed out to the unveiling of Albie Hendersons parents....good day whanau...despite the on coming downpour...arrived back at Phil and Marions to a mean as hakaari...the barbequed pork chops were the real deal...and the creamed paua and mushrooms, and the kina, and the barbd steaks/sausages, surimi/potato salads, coleslaw, stuffing, steam puds, pavs, trifles, mini chocolate/caramel/lemon pies.....mmmmmm.... the menu was endless....no doubt were lucky to be living lives of kings and queens over the hols...I must say it was good to get home yesterday and to have weetbix for brekky this morena! Happy New Year whanau! :)
