Today is my daughter Zahnies (zah-nee) 11th birthday. Four years - TopicsExpress

Today is my daughter Zahnies (zah-nee) 11th birthday. Four years ago I went to jail for a year and four days later so did my wife. Child protection took the girls and long story short, I spent almost two years of court appearances trying unsuccessfully to get them back. Judge Deborah Bail refused to amend a no-contact order so I could move forward with my reunification case plan and the a termination trial was set. I had the pleasure of listening to every possible negative thing about myself both real and imagined by anyone and everyone who had anything to do with me EXCEPT for family. They were closed hearings. And even though I had not violated my probation in any way, or broke any laws, the judge had no choice but to terminate my parental rights due to my criminal judges refusal to modify the protection order. In the end I got/had to say goodbye to my girls and I have not seen them in two years. The adoptive parents, Todd and Becci Carpenter, were wonderful to have been the ones to take both the girls into their home, both as foster kids and then to adopt them into their family permanently. God blessed them with a great family and me with peace of heart and mind about who they would be with. I do not get to visit or talk to my girls, it has been a long two years. I was attending Life Church in meridian for a while until one Sunday I happened to see the girls coming out of the Sunday school class. I panicked and went out the door before they could see me. I am still not allowed to see them and I have to drop off any correspondence (bithday cards) to the social worker at Health and Welfare...They dont even know I had cancer... I know some of you attend Life Church so leave a comment if you like. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZAHNIE!!!
