Today is one of the most special days of the year, Veterans Day. It is a time to remember the sacrifices of those who had the resolve to wear the uniform and serve honorably. From Belleau Wood to Bastogne, Chosin to Ia Drang, Kuwait City to Ramadi, Grenada, Panama, Helmand, and numerous other locations our brave men and women led the fight to promote democracy, free the oppressed, and make the world a better place. I have served with thousands and each of them inspire me with their sacrifice and service. Those who came before me, especially our WWII, Korea and Vietnam vets occupy a special place in my heart and I stand, salute and say thank you.
