Today is the 1 year anniversary of Davids heart surgery. He is now considered cured and is a healthy 14 year old boy. He had Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, which is essentially an extra nerve in the heart, making your heart race all the time (very simplified explanation, but I dont want to bore yall). Before surgery, his resting heart rate could be anywhere from somewhat normal (70-80-ish) to very high (160-ish). It could fluctuate with no notice or explanation, leaving him tired all the time. Today, a year later, his energy level is higher that its ever been, physical activity is no longer a struggle, his attitude is better, and hes had about 4 growth spurts since last year. I am very proud of him, and very thankful for the amazing doctor and hospital staff that took care of him. Love you, Davey Carottree!
