Today is the 2nd anniversary of my mothers death. As some of you may recall, despite her age her passing that morning was sudden and came as a shock. But on this anniversary, my recollection tends less toward the pain and sadness of that day and more toward gratitude for the outpouring of kindness that my family and I received from so many relatives, friends and acquaintances near and far. Their kind words, helpful deeds, thoughtful gestures and, yes, their love was a source of uplifting strength at the time, and of abiding joy as a recall it today. For those many kindnesses great and small, thank you.
