Today is the 80th birthday of Laughing Len. Now, Ive been a fan of Leonard Cohen since about 1970, hes one of my heroes, he is one of those artists whose albums I go out and buy when they come out and there is a new one due tomorrow. He has written so many great songs that it is difficult to choose just one. However, over the years I have found myself drawn to this one. It reminds me of my bed-sitter days in Jesmond, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but where else would you find song lyrics like these?
