Today is the Autumnal Equinox, and here is a little about its significance, from my dear brother Billy Stern: Aloha Friends, The Autumnal Equinox is Monday, September 22, 2014 at 7:29 PM PDT. The Equinox reminds us about the passage of time, the motion of the Earth, and the changing of the seasons. It marks the start of Autumn for us in the Northern Hemisphere. For our friends in the Southern Hemisphere, its reversed. Spring has just begun for them. On this day, when the Sun passes straight overhead, at the zenith for people on the equator, like in Kenya or Ecuador, there arent any shadows. On this day, the Sun rises directly in the East, and sets directly in the West. On this day, the Sun will begin to rise at the South Pole after six months of darkness Its one of two times a year that the day and night are of equal length. Wishing you a special day, symbolic of balance in our life and with the environment. Stay in tune with nature
