Today is the birthdate of Geronimo. Geronimo was the very characterture of the "savage indian" when I was a child. Popular culture portrayed him as other then human. One of the things that I have appreciated over the years is that Geronimo has been more truthfully portrayed in popular culture over the years. The real Geronimo has yet to be seen in popular culture. This is a magnificent little book. Geronimo in his own words. Too bad this is one of the rare instances where we get to hear the man himself.
