Today is the day. Today, I skydive with my brothers, Isjoel and Robert, to fulfill both a lifelong dream and a promise I made to myself this time last year- to fly. This time last year, I was 335lbs and in horrible shape, physically/emotionally/mentally. Ive fought hard to get where I am today, Ive beat my own ass like a madman to get myself in a better state. Ive lost 92lbs to be under the threshold for jumping (you cant jump over 250lbs) and Ive never felt better. As with any situation where one is nearing or simply flirting with shuffling off the mortal cool, Im scared and excited. One tends to reflect on their life- at least the smart ones do. Im grateful for everything and everyone that has come and gone from my life. The pain, the joy, the tears and fits of pure laughter Ive shared. Just in case, I want to say that I love you all, and that I wish the best for each and every single one of you. I hope you not only reach your dreams, but that you find that inner flame to fuel you and to light your path ahead when things get tough- Ill always have your back, and I will always believe in you. Remember, nothing is ever as bad as it seems, you just have to look for the hidden positive in everything- its always there, I promise you. Be a good person and leave a legacy that youre proud of, not necessarily to the whole world, but to those that you love and are loved by. I love you. Today marks the official rebirth of Roman, one way or another. Heres to life and all the obstacles it brings- because what good is a flat playground, right? Climbing is part of the fun.
