Today is the day.... We convinced the docs to leave the tube in Austins abdomen, so we have at least something for fluids to drain somewhere if needed.... otherwise he is now free of equipment that we wont get to keep. Almost ready to go... Hes awake enough to where we know hes hearing us right now. Weve been dreading this moment... Mom and I both sat down with him and Mom said that were about to go HOME, to our house. He just looked at her... So she asked if he understood, and he nodded his head ever so slightly, somewhere behind his oxygen mask. She told him well get him into his own bed, and we will take care of him there. He nodded again, and a tiny tear squeezed out of the corner of his eye. I hope that means hes actually excited... home is his very favorite place (right along with the beach)... He doesnt know that the insurance/government is sending him home to die. He will NOT know why. As far as he is concerned, he will just be more comfortable in his own realm... we will do whatever we can to make sure he feels as good as he can. And even if it kills us inside, were gonna smile for him and make sure hes happy (or as happy as he can be.) Jesus be our strength for today, for it feels like were gonna fall into pieces... ~ Chelsey
