Today is the day when SA has an opportunity to vote. Each citizen - TopicsExpress

Today is the day when SA has an opportunity to vote. Each citizen has an opportunity to choose & empower the kind of leaders they want to rule over them for the next few years. Each vote counts because our government functions on a proportional representation of votes. For every 50 000 votes -1 person ( who represents what that 50 000 voted for) will get a seat in our Parliament. Each seat in Parliament will help to sway our government to make laws which represent what that 1 voter voted for. Because of proportional representation the SA system does not need 1 strong opposition party, but it desperately needs parties to represent their demographic within parliament to protect the rights & beliefs of those voters & ensure those voters voices are heard when Parliament votes on issues. In our multi party government parties can stand together when it comes to economic issues, moral issues & new laws where needed, & thus form strong voices of opposition where laws must be created, stopped, or passed. The wonder of our system is that these empowered parliamentarians can still maintain their independence on other issues which represent their electorate. For this reason South Africans must choose people to be their voice in government , or find their beliefs & values not heard or represented when government sits. As a Christian, & a leader within the faith community I believe we need sane, moral Judeo Christian voices in Parliament because, while I realize that Gods kingdom can never come through external government, I know that Western democracy , morality & economics were founded upon Godly principles of government. These Judeo Christian values underpin good laws & good economics. Laws which are morally good , fair & just & which hold a soceity, familiy & law together , & which benefit & protect each citizen, dealing strongly with corruption, crime & lawbreakers & thus protecting the innocent. Economics which care for & uplift the vulnerable, deal with inequality, while maintaining a free, stable economy. An Economy which creates equal opportunity for all, which rewards hard work & gives a helping hand to the marginalized & downtrodden- to lift them up. My prayer for each of you, my friends is that you will vote based upon your beliefs today. That you will put your cross alongside the party that most represents your morality, conscience & belief system. Today we get an opportunity to place parliamentarians in government who can be our voice & effect the future of our nation. Who can be our voice on issues such as economics, justice, the murder of the unborn, how families should thrive, should parents be the shaper of their childs morality & beliefs- or should government be? Should people be free to exercise faith, have free speech- or should government regulate these? Can we preach the gospel freely, or should government silence the church in the name of equality & discrimination- Closing schools to Christian influence & stopping churches from speaking up about things which society dislikes? These elections are probably our most significant to date as our society is sliding morally & economically to the place where justice, freedom, religious freedom & economic equal opportunity are being lost frighteningly quickly! I pray that as you make your mark today, that you will vote your conscience, that you will help elect men & women who can be your voice, that you will empower parliamentarians that can help stop the murder of the innocent in the womb, who will uphold family , parental authority & freedom of religion, freedom of speech, good moral law & accountability, good economics & social upliftment. May your mark today make a better South Africa for all!
