Today is the last day of Word Breastfeeding Week 2014. In the midst of so many health and security issues going on around us, we encourage that newborns remain a top priority... Breastfeeding initially may seem a bit difficult for a first-time mother....but perseverance is key. If she perseveres, the results for both her and the baby are immense. It not only benefits the baby by reducing the risk of allergies, and boosting the babys immunity, but it also benefits the mum, as she is more likely to regain her pre pregnancy shape if she practices exclusive breast feeding. Isnt that wonderful? Worried about size?! Breastfeeding has nothing to do with the size of the breasts. Some women worry that small breasts cant produce enough milk for the baby, this is a myth and is not supported by scientific evidence. What determines the amount of milk a breast produces is the frequency of putting the baby to the breast and the length of time the baby feeds. So there you have it... always remember to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. Encourage all mothers to practice it! As usual feel free to ask any questions regarding the topic.
