Today makes the 4th Anniversary of departure of one Cameroon’s foremost and finest writer. The question “Who kill Mbella Sonne Dipoko” by The Post Newspaper is still unanswered. Imagine a strong man today and died the following day. The Lord knows what really led to his death. It is a general believe around here that, there is no smoke without fire. Events since I arrived Cameroon in December of 2009 proof to me that there was a fire that led to the emergence of smoke. That fire is known to those that ignited it. They are around but clouded with worries of my presence on the scene. They fell the tree but the root still remains and will by God’s grace bud to relive the man. He left a big shoe so big that I am determine to fit in. there is the saying when trees fall on each other in a pile, you start from the top in other to remove the one under. His memory I’ll keep alive by God’s grace to shame those who planned his untimely exit at 74. So for a couple of years I studied law and economics at Paris University. But I gave this up when I began to work on my first novel, A few nights and Days. I really could not reconcile the drudgery of law school studies with the flamboyance of compulsive creative information. And also, what news was coming out of Africa, spoke of the death of freedom, and I thought it would be spiritually stultifying to try to function as a lawyer in a totalitarian environment.
