Today many years ago on June 6 1944 the American troops along with their European Allies assaulted the beaches of Hitlers Atlantic Wall. Most of the men who did this have now gone to meet their maker. Most of them passed without ever passing on their stories to future generations. If you do have a chance to run into a vet no matter what their service period was, take the time to ask them about their story. If those of us who care do not take the time to document the sacrifices that our nations warriors have made then their sacrifices will be forgotten by history.
