Today marks exactly one year since I started the process of coming - TopicsExpress

Today marks exactly one year since I started the process of coming out to the world as trans. I wanted to wait until this day to let everybody know that my name is also changing. Today its changing on Facebook and at some point down the line it will most likely be changed legally. Its taken me about four months of constant searching to find something that fits right. Im now going to be going by Katreya Anu Süüder Lovrenert. I wanted to represent the female lineages of both of my parents in the construction of my last name. This way I stay linked to them and to my past. One of my Moms grandmothers was a Grunert and one of my Dads was a Lovrencic. Combined they form Lovrenert. My middle name represents qualities present in myself and some of the internal dynamic forces that influence how I interact with the world. Both words are Mongolian in origin due to a very strong karmic connection I have with that region. Anu was suggested to me by a close friend and after some research I found it fit quite well. Anu was the name of a strong, exceptionally loyal Mongolian queen who lived in the 17th century and died in battle defending the life of her husband. Im extremely loyal to my friends and the people I love and anyone threatening them should have grave concerns for their well-being. Süüder means shadow. There are both light and dark aspects of my personality but most aspects are grey - they contain both. Ive been working on capturing the negative shadow aspects of my unconscious and transforming them into positive sources of strength. The positive, beneficial shadow aspects are the primary drivers of my creativity. My first name just popped into my head one day as I was walking down the street. Its a combination of Katherine and Trey. Katherine is a variant of the ancient Greek Catherine meaning pure. Trey is from Middle English and means three. To me as a Buddhist the combination of the two meanings was rather striking. The concept of three also represents strength, unity, wholeness. These are all ideals to strive for and which will be manifested at some point in the future. Katreya also just sounds wicked cool.
