Today marks my ten year anniversary of moving to Los Angeles. I had just finished college and married the love of my life Rachel Giese Danke. Along with my best pal Brian and ol dog Louie (RIP buddy) we drove a u-haul w/ my newly acquired 4WD honda civic trailered on the back AND sensible Honda Accord down from Bellingham Washington over the course of two days. IT was hot as fuk when we unloaded its makeshift housing contents into a truly lame shit-hole of an apartment in North Hollywood. This was a pre-Von Dutch Los Angeles. Pre youtube and funny or die, pre podcasts and UCB. I didnt have a facebook or even myspace, Id have punched you in the FACE (early aughts comedy trope) if you talked to me about your brand ... even ironically. I started out at the Ha Ha and Laugh Factory and Comedy Store - none of it took. I only posted that to tell you this - youll have to rip this city out of my cold dead hands. Even then Ill come at you as a zombie and rip your throat out ;-) I have a fever. This post was brought to you by nyquil.
