Today marks the 40th anniversary of the release of surely one of the most ludicrous yet completely wonderful (double) albums of all time, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway by Genesis. Hugely inventive and experimental both lyrically and musically and featuring incredible songwriting and superb musicianship throughout, it has been consistently in my top 5 albums of all time since I discovered it aged 16 (I was just 4 when it came out) and remains a major influence on whatever musical nonsense I aspire to myself.
