Today marks the 70th anniversary of Allied forces landing at Normandy to face down the vicious forces of tyranny. The service and sacrifice of these extraordinary individuals on D-Day turned the tide of a terrible war, and put in motion a march to victory. Today, and every day, let us honor these selfless, courageous patriots. The dedication of our men and women in uniform and the selflessness of their families preserves our freedoms and way of life, and their service inspires me each and every day. Thank you to all who serve and have served, especially those who woke up 70 years ago to save the world, and those resting eternally on the bluffs overlooking the beaches of France.
