Today my great-great-great-grand-father has been on my mind. He was born on Nov. 1, 1759 and died on Jan. 22, 1829. His name was Obadiah Trimmier and because of him, I am a proud Daughter of the American Revolution. He joined the Revolutionary Armed Forces at age 22 as an Ensign and quickly was comissioned an officer. He fought in battles in Virginia and South Carolina, including the Battle of Cowpens, the Battle of Kings Mt, and others. He married and had 12 children. He became a SC State representative and then a Senator. How I wish I could have known you Granddad Obadiah. What a great man you were. I learned so much about you when researching to become a member of DAR. You left behind some awesome descendants. I wish that you knew this Nation celebrates each year and remembers what you did for us. Love you.
