Today, my heart weighs heavy as I see my parents go through yet another fire on their business property. Last year, they lost the house, this year the barn where we store and produce our products. The first fire was devastating and my parents rebuilt, out of pocket! Now, finally moving on from that loss, they suffer another one. All of the equipment, materials, and tools alone cost More than one could imagine. Things that have been accumulated and purchased over the past 20+ years are gone. The barn was not insured because it was too old to insure. Now, we dont know if we have the means to be able to rebuild. Its simply heart breaking. Ive spent my entire life watching my parents work 2 jobs to provide a fantastic life for my brother and I. My mom will wake up in the morning at 4 or 5, paint, then go teach at school, then go back home and paint until bedtime. This is just who she is. Both of my parents are the 2 hardest working individuals Ive ever seen in my life. I grew up watching my mom paint and my dad do the wood work. Then my mom taught me how to paint and my dad taught my brother how to cut lumber and build furniture. The thoughts of our family business not being here next year is heart breaking to me. Unfortunately its a possibility at this point. To rebuild will take a lot of time and money that simply doesnt exist right now. Some people in the community have reached out and set up fundraisers to help Mary Mays rebuild. Im going to post the links and beg everyone to share them on Facebook. At this moment, my parents are unaware and if love to surprise them with some amazing news of having some help from people in the community. Thanks in advance for any and all donations/shares!
