Today my stepdad, Fred, is doing about the same. Each day he becomes a little more aware, and responds better to commands. His stomach is somewhat distended, so hes set to have a CT scan tomorrow to try to determine the cause. Hes still being weaned from the ventilator, and wears the trach-collar during the day. Hes still critical enough, however, to remain in CCU. His daughter, Catherine, has decorated the hospital rooms windowsill with family photos, and every day Mom brings more get-well cards from home to display for Fred to see when he feels better. Thanks again to everyone for their prayers and well wishes.
