Today my wife was riding double on this going down a hill into San Francisco, and the coaster brake made a loud POP, the brakes free-wheeled backwards, and she made a quick left against traffic on a red light, and coasted to an uphill stop.... with no collisions.... She got back to me, shaken up a bit.. I checked the hub..and the axel had broken inside the hub!! The wheel is 15 years old, with no more than 500 miles on it.. Ever heard of such a thing???
