Today on Love at 11: My name is Flora, I am a general for small business in Kampala and I make a decent living for myself. I have a three month old son with a man I had been sleeping with for 2 years. Our baby was conceived the day Henry broke up with me to follow his other lover to London. He did not want anything to do with me when I told him about the pregnancy but two months before I gave birth he called me and asked to meet. He told me that the lady he was going to London with was only playing him and only used him for his money before she took off without him. He said he had learnt his lesson and this was only the devil’s work. He stayed by my side through the pregnancy and even stayed with me in hospital after I gave birth. I did not fight him because I want my son to have a man in his life, however I made it clear to him that whatever we had before he dumped me was over because he had betrayed me and I cannot trust him after such a stunt. Now Henry has been coming over every day and bringing me and the baby gifts. I still love him but every time he comes around my mother treats him bad and even insults him to his face. I have told her that I am considering forgiving him and taking him back so we can be a family since he seems really apologetic. She has started to make life at home difficult for me, and she says I am being really stupid and refusing to learn from my mistakes. She says it’s the 21st century and I don’t need to rely on a man to raise my child. I don’t feel the way she does; do you think I am being stupid for considering giving Henry another chance?
