Today on VETSO (Praying according to the will of God...contd) yesterday we continued the series we started on praying in the HolyGhost, by looking into the liberty and moderation of praying in the HolyGhost, today we shall be looking at the benefits. 3) Benefits of praying in the HolyGhost: 1) for ones spiritual growth and development, Jud 1:20/21, praying in the HolyGhost in consonance with the word of God, helps us to build our sensitivity to the spirit of God, in other words as often as you commune with the Spirit of God, the more familiar you get to His voice and are able to discern a strange voice from the voice of the HolySpirit, Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil the word by the reason of use means with constant practice, repeatedly doing. We all came to understand our parents voices by the reason of use they speak to us all the time, and we speak to them all the time, so constantly praying in the HolyGhost helps our relationship with the HolySpirit. 2) It helps us to praise and worship God even better, John 4:24, even Paul knows the importance of this and said in 1 Corinthians 14:15b I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also. 3) It prepares your heart for insight and revelation, Acts 10:13, 4) It helps you to stay connected 24/7, Gal 5:16 Now finally, every believer that has received the gift of the HolySpirit has the potential ability to speak in tongues, but often times are trapped by their own minds, the reason is you might not agree with me but speaking in tongues is the First evidence of the presence of the HolySpirit, Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 10:45-46 And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles. For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, dont get me wrong, because you dont speak in tongues doesnt mean you dont have the HolySpirit, but rather because you have the HolySpirit, it means that you can speak in tongues, maybe you just havent launched into that deep yet.
