Today, our goal was reached! Over $14,400 raised. Amazing. So, in celebration, I thought I might share a bit of back story. Five years ago, Anthony went to Zambia to build a playground for an orphanage there. I stayed home with the kids, as we both declared that serving globally was something we would do as a family, whatever that looked like, in whatever season we were in. And specifically, that we would take our young boys to Africa. Our church takes a yearly trip to Kenya and last year, I wondered if it would be a possibility for us to go. Then, the woman came to visit who leads the ministry there that we will be working with and I was completely drawn in. A few months later, someone who went the previous year briefly spoke. And my heart was tugged again. Would this be something we could do? How will Anthony get off work to go? Where will the money come from? In January, I wrote down on a dreams list, first thing, to go on a mission trip to Africa as a family this year, having absolutely no idea how that would happen. In February, we made a strong decision for Anthony to leave his job at UPS and work AdvoCare full-time, giving him time freedom to build our business and live on mission, freely, with his family. Two days after making this decision, I received a text inviting us to go, as a family, on this Kenya trip. It was like God was saying, Yes, yes, yes. This is what I have for you. Step into it, with faith. With him leaving the safety of the regular paycheck, we were stepping into a season of trust and faith for our finances. Taking on a $14K commitment could appear to be crazy. But we knew God had given us a vision that was bigger than us and that He would provide. And He has. Completely. Those visions for our family and for how we are committed to impacting the world are not crazy. They are God-given. And when we step into them, He will provide. I tend to lean towards the anxious side of things sometimes. God has spoken so much to me through the last few months and throughout our preparation of this trip. And now we are ready to go. To give and love and serve. And to see what else He is up to…in each of our own lives and the life of our family. It truly is amazing to see a dream become a reality. It strengthens my courage to dream new dreams. Crazy dreams! And to watch God do what He does. Every time.
