Today should be Friday 13. My beautiful Temple dog is dead. We got a call from a Temple nun to say that a dog has been in a bad state shaking and dribbling saliva since yesterday. Why didnt they phone us yesterday. We raced to the Temple and the nun said the dog had disappeared. I asked which one and from her description I knew immediately who it was. Na Rak a beautiful male dog Ive looked after since he was dumped at the Temple as a tiny puppy 6 years ago. The monk found him lying in the undergrowth unconscious but still breathing...just. We got him to the vet who wasnt sure if he had been bitten by a Cobra or had been poisoned. Hed been fighting for his life for over 24 hours and the vet thought he may have had a stroke. It breaks my heart just writing this. The vet put Na Rak on a drip but was reluctant to inject him as he didnt know the cause of his poisoning and could use the wrong medication. We got a phone call 2 hours later to say Na Rak had died. Im so upset with the monk and nun for leaving the poor dog is such terrible condition for over a day before calling us. He never had a chance.
