Today someone had the gall to comment that to be South African and defend Israel immediately labels you a racist, apartheid collaborator, human rights abuser and proudly not South African! Are these people blind to the fact that there are struggle veterans who side with Israel....as there are struggle veterans that favour the Palestinian cause. The assumptions made here are ludicrous! This conflict is not black and white....its pretty grey......and taking up such staunch unyielding positions serves no purpose....It insults the intelligence of many people...insults the proud legacy many people have, related to the struggle for freedom in this country. In a country that has the most progressive constitution in the world....are we really going to start and deny people their right to differing opinions.....is it inconceivable that some can be proudly South African and also Proudly Israel?......or Proudly Palestinian for that matter?......to suggest otherwise is disingenuous....shame on those of you that suggest this..........
