Today sportive news out off the chess domain !!!! On Saturday the 18th of October 2014 the first Mannheim Univeristy Championship in chess took place at „Mensa“. Parallel to a tournament of lower age groups(U10 toU14). The older age groups (U16 up to University members) played in a tournament over 7 rounds. Winner of the first University Championship is Armin Farmani Anosheh. We congratulate him to this sucess. We also congratulate Isabel Steimbach and Lukas Melzner who are the second and third place winners within the University assessment. Great thanks aimed at our cooperation partner SK Mannheim-Lindenhof 1865 e.V. We couldn`t have never realised this tournament without their support. For all of you who are interested in chess!!! The University chess group meets every monday evening form 7pm until 10/11pm at O48. We are very happy about new motivated and excited faces.
