Today, the 36 riders of the cross-state Law Enforcement Brotherhood Ride arrived at the site south of Fort Pierce where St. Lucie County Sheriffs Sgt. Gary Morales was murdered in the line of duty while making a traffic stop on February 28, 2013. St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara and his command staff were there and joined the riders in a moment of prayer at the site. Pictured (left to right) are members of the St. Lucie County Sheriffs Office command staff: Major David thompson, Major William Longhorn, Sheriff Mascara, Deputy Kevin Perkins who rode as a member of the Brotherhood Ride, Chaplain Dave Thompson, Chief Deputy Garry R. Wilson and Major F. Patrick Tighe. The Brotherhood Ride honored four law officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, including Sgt. Morales.
