Today was a bad day for our horse Blue. The farrier came to trim and reset his shoes. We discovered that the hoof abscess that he had in April had killed a lot of his hoof. Most of his hoof literally fell off when the farrier had removed the shoe, Leaving "live" meat exposed. He is now home where I can change his boot daily, give him medications and soak his foot in salt water. This is going to be a long recovery.
