Today was a productive day at home, well, not at home, because I was running around trying to take care of things here. Started day with coffee with my neighbor Ann, then paid property taxes, got van inspected, went 3 different places and paid bills up through January, went to post office and picked up my last 2 months mail, went and paid car insurance, got the tags for my van, and then went to Kathy Robinsons house for a great supper with her family and Brenda Fields and Tony. Finished up the evening there cutting up a white sheet to make ghosts for Kathys school project. Finally got home around 10:30. Tomorrow, I hope to check in with another friend, and then to tackle the funeral home to find out why they havent set Pauls headstone yet. It was suppose to be set before his birthday and I am still waiting. Why is it when you owe someone something, they are on the phone almost daily dinging you, but let them owe you something and they take their good sweet time? I know that it is going to happen, but in the meantime, I know that some of Pauls family is wondering why he doesnt have his headstone yet. I had wanted to plant some peonies at his grave this fall, but wanted to wait until the headstone was in place. I had hoped to get a new roof on this fall, but that isnt happening either since the guy I have been doing work for on the weekends doesnt seem to think it is important to pay me or even communicate with me as to how he plans to pay. And what he owes me is enough to purchase all of the materials. So now I hope and pray that the roof survives one more winter. Just something else to worry about. Even if he were to pay me tomorrow, it is too late to do it now and will have to wait till spring. I just dont understand people. So outside of my rants, it is good to be home, if only for a little while.
