Today was a very exciting and positive experience as I represented myself as a Wasco fisher who is concerned about the environmental impacts of the proposed coal terminals in Oregon and Washington. As a member of a delegate team organized by the National Wildlife Federation I visited and spoke with the Washington State Senators Cantwell and Murray, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Interior/Bureau of Land Management, and White House staff at the Council on Environmental Quality. To top it off I had a great dinner with NWF staff including the wonderful CEO. It was quite invigorating and I am absolutely glad I decided to come here. Tomorrow we meet with the Oregon Senators offices and the Army Corps of Engineers.
