Today was a very good day for our family. RickiLee has been relieved of the Endo Tracheal tube, and the brain drain tube, and is able to speak, albeit in faint whispers. Her throat is very raw, and sore from the tube, but should heal quickly. Shes not yet allowed anything to drink, or eat, but, as soon as the Speech and Language therapist is able to administer a swallowing test, she will be cleared to have a much needed drink of cold water! I am sure she will appreciate that! From the tube, and the oxygen, she is very, very thirsty!! Again, please accept my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the many messages, texts, emails, and calls of support for RickiLee, and our family! Your support makes an incredible difference in our ability to handle the enormous stress and pain of dealing with this very trying episode in our familys life.
