Today was another tough day for me. Not only is the SOLD sign up in front of my house....but Bessy, my travel companion for the last 16 years died today. Bessy is a 16-year-old (1999) Chrysler Town and Country LTD mini-van. I got her brand-new late in 1998 and she has been MANY places with me and my family. We have traveled 240,000 miles together.. Shes been many places around the country and ALL over Wisconsin. Shes taken me to MANY friends homes. Helped moved family and friends COUNTLESS times. Shes taken my kids to Little League games, Hockey practice and games, Dance Lessons, Swim Lessons, Summer Camp, YMCA Lock-Ins, all kinds of school activities, Birthday parties (too numerous to count), friends houses, school - more times than I want to remember. Weve been to Green Bay for Packers training camp and for Packer Games. Bay Beach Park, Oneida Casino, Ho-Chunk Casino, Wisconsin Dells SO many times. Lots of fun times with the kids and other family and friends. We went to Green Bay in a horrid snow storm to the Postal Workers Event at Lambeau Field. Shes carried my son, Dave and his Drums to LOTS of the bands shows, from The festival in Franklin (in the old Franklin Village near St. Martin of Tours Church to The Globe and many others places. He was the last one to drive her and in a FITTING end, she took him and his drums to a show in Bay View about a week ago. Shes carried me through TOO many snow storms (NEVER getting stuck) - All Wheel Drive is AWESOME in Wisconsin Winters. Blasted through 4 FEET of snow at the end of the driveway after the plows went through in a March Blizzard when my husband had his 2nd heart attack....and she NEVER stopped, until today when I found out the the Differential blew up - as the mechanic put it. It is NOW OFFICIAL - the end of an ERA in my life has arrived....Rest in peace dear Bessy....I will; miss you TREMENDOUSLY!
