Today was difficult. I purged the last of my late husbands things that I felt where unnecessary to hold onto any longer. I gave his parents some things that I was not ready to part with 5 years ago. I saved some things for my kiddos that I hope someday mean something to them. Days like today hit me hard because no matter what I save and what I hold onto - my kids will never know their dad first hand. They will know stories, they will know photos, they will know some video, but they will never remember his hugs, his smile, or his amazing personality first hand. Despite today being difficult, I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am deeply blessed. Blessed to have so many friends and family who adore us. Blessed to have in-laws who have stayed so close for me and my kids. Blessed to have so many memories to sort through. Life is short, and nobody gets out without problems and pain. Count your blessings, dont sweat the small stuff, dont argue over petty differences, and live like each moment is your last. Hug more, laugh more, kiss more, and above all else LIVE this life you are given. So many who have gone before wish they had the chance. No excuses, no regrets. ~1fw
