Today was my 17th day of racing in the last 22 days but this time it was at home in Colorado! I flew back super early this morning from Boise Twilight and couldnt help myself because the Longmont Criterium is one of my favorites, so I built my bike back up and lined up to race. It was a very fast race from the gun with many strong riders. Alarm bells were ringing early on when Gage Hecht and Michael Dessau went off the front together. I found the counter attack with the strongmen Jon Tarkington, Michael Burleigh, and Andrew Clemence and we 4 established a gap that held for the remainder of the 70 minute race. Burleigh gets the award for most aggressive rider in the break, doing the lions share of the work. In the end Jon attacked on the last lap and I was able to latch on and sprint around for the win! My Argon 18 rode super fast and my Stans NoTubes Wheels railed the corners, and all the while I was staying cool in my Champion System summer skinsuit. Thanks to my family and friends for cheering, its good to be home!
