Today was my last day as an orientation coordinator. (If you missed WOW 2014, here is a recap: https://youtube/watch?v=toG5u-bHGqQ) Im so very excited for new adventures, but wont forget the old adventures that shaped me into who I am. Im off to build something shiny and new on a foundation laid by a legacy nearly 60 years old. Ive learned so much, and thus have so much more to teach. To the Board: Andrene, Christina, Brandon, Evan, Lauren, Lauren, Sarah, Christian, Katie, and Meagan, and also to the Leads: Lance, Ashley, Elizabeth - When youre in the thick of it dealing with the details it is hard to see, but in the complete literal sense of it, you changed lives this week. Absolutely without a doubt, the same new students that started with us on Monday, are not the same any longer. They are starting school tomorrow better for your hard work, your leadership, and your caring. I guarantee this is true also for the OLs and the Team. While we have had our fair share of rough times and disagreements (having a strong opinion is a measure of caring), I have learned immensely from you. Im happy to call you friend, colleague, mentor, inspiration. All of the above. You make me #CalPolyProud and that is all there is to it. To my fellow FOW out there - I cannot wait for you to come back to SLO. Now Im free to fully join your ranks and hang out with you when you return!
