Today was my normal day to visit both the Green Mill in Rosedale - TopicsExpress

Today was my normal day to visit both the Green Mill in Rosedale and Key’s in Spring Lake Park to check on June’s Alzheimer’s Awareness Card dispensers and refill as necessary, but it was much more then that…. I attended Redeemer’s Grief Share Group meeting early in the morning and then attended the most important event of the day. Fran the Chaplain at the Benedictine held her normal monthly Memorial Service for those residents that God had called home in the past month…The service was a candle lighting service in the beautiful Holy Spirit Chapel…it is primarily a service held for the residents of the Benedictine to honor one of their own who went home to Heaven. Family and friends are invited to attend if they desire… The residents can select Hymns from a Hymn book that Fran passes out to all in attendance…During the course of the service three Hymns are selected and Fran plays the piano to accompany the singing…the last Hymn selected was my and June’s favorite Hymn: “Take My Hand Precious Lord”. I am resolved to attend every one of Fran’s monthly Memorial Services in the future... I am doing this both as June’s representative and as a representative of those family members of honored residents that were not in attendance… The Hymn “Take My Hand” is a song that I used to sing to June every day as she was waking up from her afternoon nap time in room 207 of the Villa of the Benedictine…while I ma not much of a singer, I had a record of Elvis and his many gospel recordings that I would play and Elvis would make me sound good… I hope my family will take the time to also light a candle as I will on Saturday the 18th of October…the 2nd anniversary of David’s going home to the Lord in 2012…. Here is Elvis with his rendition of “Take My Hand Precious Lord”... youtube/watch?v=We-Twrd3ZmM
