Our stepfather, Roosevelt Eubanks served in the Vietnam War on 3 seperate occasions and on this day, we, Latrice Hayes Williams, Shirley Brown Angela Hayes Williams and Karen Boatner Tolbet salute him for his contributions to this country. A day well spent with Mayor Melvin Kip Holden and one of my former co-workers, Barbara Turner who was also honoring her late husband Sam Turner who served in the Vietnam War. The guest speaker said something that was so profound... STOP blaming people for their service to this country. Soldiers dont make the decision to go to war...Politicians do! Soldiers that enlist understand the necessity to serve and protect civilians that live in the United States of America.
