Today was suppose to be a special day... I had planned for months how I wanted to celebrate the most important woman in the world to me.. my grandmothers birthday is all I had on my mind. Then I found out I had an important meeting to attend to exercise my right to vote. I was going to miss the meeting and celebrate with my main lady. But my grandmother talked me into going and casting my vote. So I postponed the birthday plans to go vote, then my voice was silenced. I felt pride in standing up for what was right. I fought until I got a huge headache and couldnt take it anymore. At 29 years old I honestly gave it all I had today and was very disappointed at so many people I once looked up to. While Im heartbroken over what transpired, Im thankful to have the courage to stand up for those who have been silenced for way to long. For I know, as long as I continue to fight the good fight, eventually we will win. For I am pleased and very proud of everyone who let their voices be heard today. I pride myself in always doing whats right and treating people right. As Long as God is pleased with me, then thats all that matters... winning an election isnt worth it if it means mistreating people and stepping on people to get ahead...
