Today was the coldest day of the year in my city of Memphis: temperatures at night reached 10 degrees Fahrenheit ( -12 Celsius). It has been a long time since I was exposed to such cold; all wrapped up, thermostat on high, and with the fire on inside my house, I made sure that my children were covered up with double blankets before going to sleep. And even as I was taking care of myself and my family, I could not help but think of the millions of Syrian refugees, facing far more brutal conditions than I, with absolutely no heating, barely any shelter, and not even enough blankets to keep warm. https://youtube/watch?v=ES74TbogYYA Already, a few children have frozen to death. Frozen to death! For lack of some cloth to cover themselves with... What will we respond to Allah?! What will we say on that Day?! I dont know...I dont have any answer. Ya Rahman, Ya Raheem! Have mercy on our weak. Ya Ghaffar, Ya Ghafoor! Forgive me for not having done more.
