Today we are thankful for many things, but one being our freedom of movement and mobility. This is something we often take for granted on a day to day basis. One important aspect of an inclusive playground is smooth surfacing that allows a child or caregiver with mobility device the opportunity to freely access a play space. This video demonstrates a child navigating 2 types of surface...Engineered wood fiber (EWF) is most commonly used on playgrounds and Pour In Place (PIP) surfacing that is by far the best option but makes up a 1/3 to 1/2 of an inclusive playground cost.
