Today we burn effigies of a Catholic terrorist. Had the gunpowder - TopicsExpress

Today we burn effigies of a Catholic terrorist. Had the gunpowder plot succeeded, blowing up all the MPs and Lords, plus the staff in Parliament, it would have been the worst terrorist attack ever. Osama Bin Ladens 911 Twin Towers attack would be in second place. Yesterday my listening to the news was disrupted by having to hear a whingeing hereditary wannabe monarch whittering on about how Christians were the most persecuted religion in the world. This was based on a report from a Catholic charity. During the Inquisition, Catholics not only tortured and murdered individuals, but in places such a Bezier, France, the Pope hired a mercenary army and told them to wipe out every single man, woman and child in the town, which they did. It took until 1998 for the Pope to apologise for the Catholic churchs failure to speak out about the killing of Jews by the Nazis. I am no more anti-Catholic than I am anti- all religious nutcases (The crusades, Palestine, ISIS etc). You can believe what you want. I hope your beliefs make you a better person and that you believe in yourself. But when your beliefs tell you that others are inferior, worth less, can - or even should - be killed just because they are not like you, not because of their behaviour or actions, you become a religious nutcase.
