Today we carried out a traffic operation across the area, looking for speeding motorists, drivers using mobile phones and those not wearing seat belts. All of which along with parking problems been raised by a number of people recently. We had marked and unmarked vehicles in, Broadtown, Lydiard Millicent, Lyneham, Dauntsey Bank, Hook, Cricklade, Latton, Purton, RWB town, Stoneover Lane, Whitehill Way & Longleaze. We also had civil enforcement officers from Wiltshire Council helping out with a number of parking related issues across the towns. Thanks to everyone involved, and apart from those who received fixed penalty notices (tickets) the response was very positive. The driver of the red car in the photo gave the comment of the day for traveling at 45mph in a 30mph area. Im moving to Trowbridge! We werent sure if it was an excuse or because wed stopped him! And as for is this why I pay my taxes? I leave that one up to you.
