Today we did moms most important act of kindness. We took a watering can (blue of course) with a card and gift cards to the oncology floor at swedish american hospital where dad spent a lot of his time. I was even lucky enough to run into one of dads favorite nurses Kelsey (the one who talked her husband into bringing the engine and fireman to the hospital to visit dad). In the card mom thanked the nurses for making his stay there a little more comforting. The way the nurses joined in on his humor, made it a little more easier on all of us. In the bottom of the watering can there were 20 gift cards that we left for the nurses to distribute as they see fit; whether it be to staff, patients, or family members of patients. As we know, a lot of the patients and staff spend a lot of their time on that floor and mom figured a little gift card could truly make someones day up there. Also we could never thank the nurses enough for all the kindness and love they showed all of us during our time there. They even promised to be sure to pay it forward :)
