Today we discussed (with several people) the beauty and spirit of our beloved Scotland. Maybe its because we must leave tomorrow for Canada that were feeling particularly nostalgic. And not too proud to say just a little bit weepy. A distinct regret is that well miss the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. Had we remained in Scotland, and if we were choosing the artists, we would, without doubt, demand Eddi Reader. And we would implore her to sing either Auld Lang Syne or Aye Fond Kiss. But probably the latter. Eddi Reader epitomizes talent and vocal prowess and in her charge this song is utterly and devastatingly sad. Yet its at the same time hauntingly beautiful. OMG - we LOVE Eddi Reader.
