Today we have made some beautiful poppies and talked about remembering all the people who have died or have been injured through the war and all those who are still putting their lives at risk. I am so incredibly proud of our little people at playgroup - every year we hold a silence for Armistice Day and every year the children, some of whom have only just turned two years old, surprise me with their level of understanding and acceptance about why we hold the silence. One of our children who recently went to see the poppies at the Tower Of London with her family told me They are for the soldiers who died in the fight, theyve gone up to heaven now - brought a lump to my throat! Well done to all of our children today, very touching.
