Today we have the Prime Minister asking us to "calm down" as it - TopicsExpress

Today we have the Prime Minister asking us to "calm down" as it relates to the lay-offs of temporary workers yet he is also on record stating that temporary workers are not assured of a job. While temporary workers may not be assured of a job, the current administration has been boasting about its commitment to keeping all public sector workers employed and hired thousands of workers; many of them young people on the eve of an election. This same government seeking to be elected said “We will NOT LIE, CHEAT or STEAL” and said “They have Betrayed Our Trust”; but today is telling us the people of Barbados it is unaware of the reasons for the lay-offs. This is quite a cause for concern as the heads of departments only follow direction from the Government. Our call to you Prime Minister Fruendel Stuart Q.C, M.P is that if your administration is unaware of the lay-offs and cuts being made then you need to take immediate action to stem this nonsense from occurring. We call on you to re-instate those persons laid-off with immediate effect and to ensure they are paid for the days since their termination. We also call on you to withdraw the cuts suggested until sufficient information is made available to your administration after a thorough analysis has been carried out to determine the effects of these cuts. Finally, we call on you to investigate why persons are being laid-off without the required permission and that the persons responsible for “overstepping” boundaries be brought to justice for committing such acts.
