Today we say farewell to our little Mr. Fair Fish. At the Lassen - TopicsExpress

Today we say farewell to our little Mr. Fair Fish. At the Lassen County Fair about 4 summers ago while cleaning out one of our water features for the season we found several of these tiny goldfish flitting around in the bottom. These came from people who had won the little goldfish in a bag at one of the Carnival attractions, like tossing a dime into a tea cup. The people did not want to take the fish home, so into the stock tank they went. Could not find a home for this batch (this has happened before) so they came home with us. Mr. Fish is the only one to have survived for any length of time and yesterday he passed away. He had gotten bigger and grayer (kinda like us), but still would approach the side of the tank and do a dance telling us he wanted to be fed. Spent most of the last year sleeping upside down, but would spring to life when the tank lid opened to add some fish food. In his own silly he way he became quite endearing to us and will be missed. We will bury him in one of the potted plants so his legacy can live on. Lost our cat, Yoda, earlier this year. Now with Mr. Fish gone it is the first time in a long time that we have not had a pet in the house, although we have what appears to be a stray cat visiting the yard more and more often. The circle of life continues. Goodbye Mr. Fish.
